Naomi Watts

Watts, born 28 September 1968 was an British actress. She made her debut in
film in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) that was followed by three tv
series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and
Flirting (1991). Watts was a flop as an actress when she first arrived in the
United States. She acted in small-scale films and eventually was a professional
actress. Her rise to international fame was due to this part. Watts played the
part of a journalist suffering from depression in The Ring, a horror film that
was remade. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for
her performance as a grieving mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). She
continued to rise to stardom with performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and
King Kong (2005) as in Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
For her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster film The Impossible
(2012), Watts got another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the
2010s she was a part of such films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While
We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts was also a
mainstay in blockbuster films, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
