Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actor and singer of Irish origin. The green-eyed beauty , with her flaming hair was popular by her passionate and fiery performances in a variety of American films. Her natural beauty and glamorous appearance was much appreciated and she was referred to as the 'Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. The characters she played on screen reflected her strong, brave spirit that struggled for survival and recognition in a male-dominated world. She called herself "the tough Irish girl" and she would not sacrifice her respect for others in order to secure the roles that she was entitled by merit. She was a strong advocate for female actors in television and film, and gained many followers in the process. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", released in 2004, provided an honest description of her life including her struggles when she made her way up the ladder to success. She was an adventurous person who didn't hesitate in carrying out her own stunts. Over the years she appeared in over 60 films and earned an enormous amount of fame throughout the world. After leaving Parra She remarried in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and an early pioneer in transatlantic air travel, to mention several accomplishments. O'Hara eventually retired after couple of years of marriage. Blair however, was killed in a fatal plane crash in the year 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year and underwent an immediate operation. She was eventually cured. Her health deteriorated as time went by and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six, short term memory loss, as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. On the 24th of October, 2015, O'Hara peacefully expired in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95
